Engine driven fans take up a lot of room and take horsepower to run. This is the reason over the years vehicle manufacturers have gone almost exclusively to electric cooling fans in all manner of applications. From economy cars to performance cars, and now even trucks, electric cooling fans are commonplace. Updating your C2 or early C3 small block Corvette by replacing your stock engine driven fan with SPAL electric fans reaps the same benefits that the OEMs see: more horsepower, better fuel efficiency, and increased cooling ability.
We make the transition to an electric cooling fan an easy one with our 32-SP004 kit for 1963-1972 small block V8 Corvette applications. This kit includes everything you need to facilitate the installation of the included 16-inch SPAL radiator fan to your Corvette without any cutting or modification. The fan mounting brackets key to the radiator’s upper and lower mounting pins and provide a solid mounting solution for the SPAL fan without the need for pass-through mounts that can damage the radiator’s core tubes and fins over time due to weight and vibration. All SPAL electric fans feature IP68 rated waterproof and sealed motors that are fully balanced with low-noise blade designs.
Also included in the kit are a 195 degree fan switch that installs easily on your engine, along with a full wiring harness and fan relay, plus fan mounting hardware to use with the included fan brackets. It’s an all-inclusive kit that allows you to run an efficient electric cooling fan to keep your Corvette running cool. If you like you can even retain your Corvette’s factory fan shroud with some minor trimming to effectively “hide” your electric cooling fan upgrade and provide a small bit of airflow enhancement as well.
